Specify the room, selected design, opening dimensions, wall thickness and quantity. Include the model reference when shown.
Confirm the leaf finish, frame, architraves, handles, lock and hinges or track for each opening.
Check the opening direction, finished floor level and operating clearance. Pocket and sliding doors also need the wall or track space confirmed.
Measure the height on the left, in the middle and on the right; measure the width at the top, middle and bottom. Use the smallest height and width. Measure wall thickness at three positions and use the largest reading. Allow for the finished floor level. The catalogue calls for the opening to be corrected if the height or width readings differ by more than 20 mm.
For a hinged door, identify the left- or right-hand side and whether it opens inward or outward, viewed from outside the room. Mark the swing on the plan and confirm it with the door schedule.
The catalogue shows frame and leaf checks, frame assembly, fixing the frame with plates, fitting hinges and the leaf, installing the lock and stop, and fitting the architraves. The installer should confirm the fixing method and hardware for the selected door system.
Distinguish the door leaf size, clear opening inside the frame, outer frame size and overall size including architraves. Confirm wall thickness, undercut, hinges and lock positions in the final drawing.
